Artbound: A New Chapter for Southern California Arts

The Emmy Award-winning series Artbound was due for a transformative refresh. As a celebration of Southern California’s diverse arts scene—from high art to grassroots DIY theater—the series needed a versatile visual system to unify its wide-ranging stories. Drawing inspiration from the letter “X,” a symbolic artifact from the show’s previous branding, we tapped into its resonance within fashion and art as a mark of collaboration. This reimagined “X” became a unifying emblem, capturing the essence of Southern California’s creative spirit and embodying the collaborative nature of the arts in the region.

The deliverables included a refined logotype, comprehensive style guide, print posters, a dynamic title sequence, episode graphics, series trailers, and episodic promos, all designed to harmonize Artbound’s eclectic narratives. The result is a cohesive, impactful brand identity that authentically represents California’s vibrant art and culture landscape in all its forms.
